Malik Bey, also known as KILO.wav, is a visionary, DJ, and producer originally from New Jersey, currently residing in the Bay Area. KILO is a lover of all genres of music and is forever fascinated by the diverse sounds and regions from which they originate. Some of his first musical influences include Kanye West, Kaytranada, Tyler the Creator, KMB, and Sango, which play a major role in shaping his own unique sound today. Malik is forever a student of music and loves to incorporate sounds that inspire him into everything he produces, with a touch of nostalgia.

He grew up in New Jersey in a house filled with house and dance music, an influence that was greatly brought on by his mom, sparking his initial interest in the club scene. Growing up in New Jersey, he witnessed how dance music transformed from his mom's generation to his own; completely new drum patterns but carrying the same level of black joy behind the production. His journey with music has been a collection of discovering that same level of black joy throughout multiple genres and incorporating them into a new sound. His musical style blends electronic dance music, house, nostalgic R&B, and Hip-Hop, resulting in a truly eclectic sound that offers fresh and exciting experiences while attracting new fans to the world of electronic dance music.

His aspiration is to reintroduce electronic/house music to black culture, igniting inspiration among the upcoming generation and those in his community; planning to be a beacon of hope for black people who love electronic and house music.
